In 2020, tuning company Lanzante introduced the “LM 25” collection to pay tribute to McLaren’s victory at the 24 Hours of Le Mans race in 1995 with the McLaren F1 GTR bearing chassis number 01R. |
Only 7 units received Lanzante’s upgrade including 600LT, 600LT Spider, 765LT, 765LT Spider, Senna, Senna GTR and P1 GTR. All feature the Ueno Gray exterior and graphics of the championship F1 GTR. |
One of the most valuable models in this collection is the McLaren Senna GTR ‘LM 25’, which is considered the closest simulation to the F1 GTR 01R. |
The Union Jack flag is painted on the same location of the winning McLaren F1 GTR in 1995. |
The number 59 is placed on both sides of the car’s body, but the name of the main sponsor of the Kokusai Kaihatsu Racing team, Tokyo Ueno Clinic, is printed on the carbon fiber monocoque chassis. |
The original wheels are upgraded with a 5-spoke design made of aluminum alloy and carbon fiber using central locking, golden brake calipers with red McLaren lettering. |
Initially, the Senna GTR could only be used on the track. Lanzante’s changes make the car legal for use on the street, while reducing the total weight by 41 kg compared to the prototype. |
The interior of the McLaren Senna GTR ‘LM 25’ replicates the cockpit of the F1 GTR itself, with carbon fiber racing seats and blue Willans multi-point seat belts. |
Compared to racetrack models, the Senna GTR’s interior is designed to be more driver-friendly. Furthermore, the Lanzante tuner also tweaked some features to make them usable on the street. |
Some other interior details are also plated with gold such as the rotary key on the steering wheel and dashboard, gear shift lever, accelerator and brake pedal… |
Unlike previous projects, Lanzante does not interfere with the operating system of this McLaren Senna GTR. The 4.0L twin-turbo V8 engine still has a maximum capacity of 825 horsepower and 800 Nm of torque, 25 horsepower more powerful than the standard Senna. |
So that the car’s owner can use it on public roads, the tuning company has modified many operating details to ensure safety and noise standards. |
This process includes changing exterior and interior materials, exterior mechanical structures, locking systems, electrical systems, wheels and brakes, suspension systems… |
Lanzante’s McLaren Senna GTR ‘LM 25’ will be auctioned in early May 2024 with an estimated price of 1.5 to 1.7 million USD . The average price of McLaren Senna on the secondary market is about 1.1 million USD . |
