Discover the Rare Porsche 911 SC/RS: A Vintage Racing Car Up for Auction

""

GT3 RS is known as the lightest, stiffest and most durable commercial vehicle in the current Porsche 911 lineup. However, if placed next to the 911 SC/RS, it is “unlikely” that this high-performance sports car can compare in terms of flexibility. This 911 SC/RS is also one of the rare 911s upgraded with the Renn Sport package.

""

Porsche only built 20 SC/RS cars along with one genuine one on display at the company’s museum. These cars were built to participate in racing events, including 5 cars for the Rothmans team and 15 cars for other customers. The model combines the wide-arch 911 Turbo body design and a new version of the SC/RS’s conventional 3.0-liter flat-six engine. With this equipment, Porsche can reduce the car’s weight to only 960 kg.

""

The car has a simple fiberglass bumper, aluminum panels, thin glass and interior trim details that make a modern RS, making the car about 200 kg lighter than a Euro SC. and nearly 350 kg lighter than the Turbo.

""

The car’s engine block is also equipped with a high-compression forged block, 935 cylinder head, hotter cam and mechanical fuel injection that has helped increase capacity from 201 horsepower of the original SC to 252 horsepower. horsepower on street versions and 276 horsepower on racing models. With this upgrade, the car can accelerate from 0 – 96 km/h in just 5 seconds and 0 – 160 km/h in less than 12 seconds.

""

This car has chassis number 021 and was shipped to Switzerland by Porsche in March 1984 and finished 14th in the Tour de Corse in Corsica that year. This car is not the most successful of the 21 cars, but it is still a wonderful part of Porsche RS history and is currently looking for a new owner through the online auction site.
