According to the Daily Mirror, Al-Nassr has been banned from registering any new players for this summer. The Saudi Arabian club failed to pay Leicester City additional fees from an agreement for Ahmed Musa, who joined the club for £14 million in 2018.

Musa won the domestic championship with Al-Nassr but was released from his contract in 2020. FIFA has now ruled that the Arab club failed to pay Leicester £390,000 in additional performance-related fees. FIFA had previously warned Al-Nassr in 2021 that they would face a registration ban if the fees were not paid.

There are reports suggesting that they have indeed been suspended from adding players to their squad. FIFA’s ruling stated that the ban could last for three consecutive transfer windows, but the Public Investment Fund (PIF) has stated that they are willing to pay the fees to lift the ban. Al-Nassr has signed Marcelo Brozovic from Inter Milan. Previously, they acquired Cristiano Ronaldo in January.

The Portuguese forward scored 14 goals in his first 16 appearances but could not help them win the title.
