Visual designer Andy Park has revealed unused sketches of Gamora and Nebula characters from “Guardians of the Galaxy”. Surprisingly, the younger sister Nebula is “loved” more than the female lead sister.
To celebrate Guardians of the Galaxy becoming the highest-grossing film of 2014 in North America so far, visual designer Andy Park has shared some of his first sketches. from Marvel movies. The series of photos focuses on the unused original designs of two blue-skinned girls Gamora (Zoe Saldana) and Nebula (Karen Gillan).
Shaping in the movie…
…and create the initial shape.
The designs are quite different from the final look of Gamora and Nebula in the Marvel movie Phase Two. Compared to the image in Guardians of the Galaxy, the silent assassin Gamora looks quite fierce with many stripes on his face. In one drawing, she even has lead gray skin, not green like in the movie.
Andy Park also shared on Facebook that he enjoyed spending a lot of time designing the character of Nebula. Similar to her sister Gamora, Nebula’s initial appearance is also very different from the version of Guardians of the Galaxy in theaters. In addition to her characteristic bald hair, her face was sketched by the artist in many different ways.
Andy Park invested a lot of time in shaping Nabula. Her costumes on the film almost completely changed compared to the drawing. There’s a way Andy Park lets her wear a crop top that only covers her bust. There’s even a hot suit, slit so deep that most of the belly is exposed.
Guardians of the Galaxy, directed by James Gunn, became the highest-grossing film of the summer at the North American box office. According to Hollywood Reporter, by the end of last week, Guardians of the Galaxy had a total revenue of 251.8 million USD (~ 5,331.4 billion VND).
